CHICAGO, ILL. -- The Cleveland Force traveled to the Windy City and defeated the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Chicago Storm by a final score of 8-4 at the University of Illinois-Chicago Pavilion.

The Storm added to their lead (0-2) when forward Mark Ughy took the ball off the boards and scored his first goal as a member of Chicago after coming over from the San Diego Sockers in the MISL Dispersal draft at 2:32. The assist was credited to midfielder Matt Stewart. The Force cut into the lead (1-2) when forward Chris Handsor scored the power play goal off the cross from defender and team captain John Ball at 7:34.

The Storm opened the second quarter scoring (1-3) when forward Jorge Valle scored the unassisted goal at 2:26. Cleveland cut back into the lead (2-3) when Ball scored the Force second power play goal as he nailed a scorcher under the cross bar off the assist from forward Adauto Neto at 8:30. Cleveland tied the game (3-3) when forward Joel Bailey made two moves to get by a Chicago defender and goalkeeper Danny Waltman and buried the unassisted goal at 12:52.

The Storm regained the lead (3-4) when Stewart stole the outlet pass from Elfvin and scored the unassisted goal at 4:51 of the third quarter. Chicago added to its lead (3-5) when Ughy had the shot of Marojevic bounce off him into the net for the power play goal at 9:56.

Cleveland cut the lead back to one (4-5) when defender Rene Rivas scored the third power play goal of the night on the penalty kick just 34 seconds into the fourth quarter. The Storm quickly responded (4-6) when Byron Alvarez shot went off Elfvin for the score at 54 seconds. Chicago added to their lead (4-7) when Marojevic scored the power play goal on a penalty kick at 3:14. The Storm added to their largest lead of the night (4-8) when Nino DaSilva scored his first goal in a Chicago uniform off the cross from Marojevic at 8:31.

The Force will play the second game of road back-to-back weekend contests on Saturday, January 22 when they travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to take on the Milwaukee Wave at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
