
Force goalkeeper tabbed with team honor

MILWAUKEE, WIS. - The Milwaukee Wave United handed out its post-season awards and honors for the recently completed 2004 season. Force goalkeeper Jim Larkin, who is in his second season with Wave United, was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Larkin, a native of Toronto, Canada, had another solid season defending the net for Milwaukee as well as serving as the team captain. Jim started all but three games this past season, posting a record of 12-9-4 with a 1.53 GAA in 2,347 minutes played. He also registered six shutouts. Larkin has now started 44 of a possible 56 regular season games for Wave United during its two seasons in the A-League, compiling a mark of 22-18-4, with a 1.42 GAA and 13 shutouts.
Fellow Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) players Greg Howes and Johnny Torres join Jim as the Wave United post-season award winners. Howes and Torres, who play for the Wave in the MISL, were tabbed as Offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player respectively.
Larkin and the rest of the Force veterans will report to training camp later this month in preparation for the 2004-05 MISL season. Last year, Jim recorded his first career shut out, career-high 31 saves and first career goal.
