Force forward has successful surgery

CLEVELAND, OHIO- Doctors Donald Goodfellow and Jack Wilbur of University Hospitals and Cleveland Force Athletic Trainer Aaron Galpert announced that forward Adauto Neto underwent successful surgery today at University Hospitals to insert a metal rod into his injured left leg.

Neto broke his left leg this past summer during the A-League season with the Rochester Rhinos. Adauto, who missed the first five games of the season, re- aggravated the injury over the last few weeks. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks of action and was placed on the injured reserve list.

Neto has appeared in 11 games this season and is currently second on the team in scoring with 16 points. Adauto has recorded nine goals, including two game- winners, seven assists and five blocks. He has been selected the University Hospitals Player of the Game on three occasions this season.

In other news, the Force waived forward Connally Edozien for the termination of his contract.

Cleveland will continue their road trip this weekend when the team will head to Baltimore, Maryland to take on the two-time defending Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Champion Baltimore Blast on Saturday, January 29 at the 1st Mariner Arena. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:35 p.m. and can be heard live on WHK 1420 AM In Cleveland and 1440 AM in Warren/Youngstown or worldwide on the Internet at the www.thesportsking.com.
