Chicago Storm News Release
Chicago, IL (Friday, January 28, 2005) â The Chicago Storm of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that the team has activated defender/midfielder Ted Chronopoulos from the 15-day injured reserve list and waived defender Jonah Long. Chronopoulos will be available for the Storm for tonight's match-up with the St. Louis Steamers at the UIC Pavilion, starting at 7:30 p.m. CT. The game can be heard live on www.chicagostorm.net in English and on Univision Radio WRTO 1200 AM in Spanish.
Chronopoulos suffered a zygomatic arch fracture on December 18, 2004, in a 9-8 overtime loss at Kansas City. The 32-year-old defender collided with a Kansas City player along the midfield boards and was elbowed along the right side of his face and he has missed action for the Storm since the incident.
Long, 24, played in 17 games for the Storm scoring one goal and two assists for three points. The Bakersfield, CA native joined the team on October 19 in preparation for the inaugural season after competing in preseason games and training camp. Long's lone goal for the Storm came in a 6-5 win over Cleveland on November 3, 2004, at the UIC Pavilion.
