
KiXX Sign Philadelphia Native Daniel Antoniuk

Philadelphia, PA, January 28, 2005 â Philadelphia KiXX Executive Vice President/General Manager Greg Bibb announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Daniel Antoniuk for the remainder of the 2004-05 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) season, plus an option for the 2005-06 campaign. The club originally acquired the rights to the Philadelphia native with their first round selection in the 2005 MISL Dispersal Draft, which was held on January 5.
Antoniuk began his professional indoor career with the Milwaukee Wave in 2003-04, before being traded to the San Diego Sockers during his rookie season. The 6-3, 200-lb target recorded four points on two goals and a pair of assists in eight games with San Diego in 2003-04, and has notched seven points (one goal, six assists) in 10 contests with the Sockers this season. Antoniuk has also competed with the Portland Timbers of the outdoor A-League for the past two seasons.
The 23-year-old graduate of Wheaton College finished his collegiate career as the school's all-time leader in every major statistical category, including goals (54), assists (36) and points (144). He set Wheaton's single-season record in goals (18), assists (13) and points (49) during the 2000 season and is a three-time NEWMAC All-Conference selection. Antoniuk was also named the 2000 NEWMAC Player of the Year.

To make room on the KiXX 20-man roster, the club has waived veteran midfielder Les Lunsford.
Antoniuk will be available to make his KiXX debut this weekend with a pair of games versus the St. Louis Steamers at the Wachovia Spectrum. The club will first entertain the Steamers on Saturday, January 29, and then battle St. Louis on Sunday, January 30. Saturday's game-time is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET. The first 3,000 fans, 14 and under, to enter the gates on Sunday will receive a complimentary Don D'Ambra Bobblehead Doll, courtesy of Ewing Cole. That contest is slated for a 5:05 pm ET start time, with the doors opening at 4:00 pm ET.
