
Force Falls To Philadelphia In School Day Action

PHILADELPHIA, PA. - The Cleveland Force traveled to the City of Brotherly Love and was defeated by the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Eastern Division Philadelphia KiXX by a final score of 5-3 at the Wachovia Spectrum. The game was a school day game for the KiXX.
With the loss, the Force fell to 7-16 overall, 0-7, versus Eastern Division opponents, 0-4 in the season series and 3-8 on the road. With the win, Philadelphia improved to 16-8 overall and 7-1 versus Eastern Division opponents and 8-3 at the Wachovia Spectrum.
The KiXX opened the scoring (0-1) when Don D'Ambra scored the goal off a nice give and go from Kevin Sloan at 14:09 of the first quarter.
Cleveland tied the game (1-1) when Myles Stoddard took the initial shot off the restart and got the ball right back and took the shot that went off two KiXX players for the tying score at 8:42 of the second quarter.
Philadelphia regained the lead (1-2) when Les Lunsford found the back of the net off the pass from Mauricio Vincello at 9:29 of the third quarter. The Force tied the game (2-2) when Stoddard scored his second goal of the game on the cross from Joel Bailey at 10:12. The KiXX regained the lead (2-3) when Vincello scored the unassisted goal at 12:44.
Philadelphia added to its lead and opened the final period scoring (2-4) when Pat Morris scored the restart and power play goal off the pass from Goran Vasic at 4:37 of the fourth. The KiXX kept the scoring attack going (2-5) when Matt Brooks scored the unassisted goal at 6:18. Cleveland cut into the lead (3-5) when Stoddard scored his third goal of the game off the second assist of the game for Bailey at 7:19. The third goal marked the first hat trick of the season as well as the first hat trick as a member of the Force for Stoddard.
Cleveland will next play host to the MISL Western Division Dallas Sidekicks
on Sunday, February 15 at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State
