FLOWERY BRANCH, GA- Tuesday, the 2005 National Conference Champions continued preparation for the 2006 season, holding the first practice of the day at 10 a.m. and the second practice at 2:30 p.m. at Flowery Branch.
In the afternoon practice, the offense looked great and the defense made their fair share of plays as well. QB Matt Nagy connected with WR/LB Derek Lee and OS Chris Jackson on several occasions as well as completing multiple passes to WR/LB Chris Johnson. The defense was able to put pressure on the quarterback and it paid off late in practice when OL/DL Jermaine Smith deflected a pass which was intercepted by WR/LB Carl Morris.
DIRECTOR OF FOOTBALL OPERATIONS: NICK POLK
Overall view of the team: "The team last year was very good, but the talent level is even better on this years team. It is apparent that there is an increase in talent and competition at every position. The players and the coaching staff have put forth an abundant amount of energy which is very encouraging entering the season and I would like to tip my hat to all of them."
