Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montreal, April 15, 2002 - After a stunning success in its first year, the football 101 course is back this year. And like in 2001, the teachers will be none other than Montreal Alouettes' players themselves.

The three-hour courses covering the basics of Canadian football will take place in the John-Molson room of the Molson Brewerie on Saturday, May 4, starting at 8:30 a.m. The morning class will be given in English and the French class will begin at noon.

For only $32 plus taxes, women will be taught the basics of the game by professional football players of the Montreal Alouettes.

Last year, more than 400 women attended the classes. To subscribe, call the Alouettes' ticket office at (514) 871-2255. Call early because space is limited and this course is very popular.

The interest of women in football is growing. Among the spectators attending the Alouettes' games at Percival-Molson Stadium, 33 percent are women. Also, the femme-club, regrouping 100 women of Montreal's business community, is in its fourth year.

Two new policewomen with the Alouettes Two Alouettes cheerleaders and police students have recently been admitted at Nicolet's National training school. The Alouettes want to wish the best of luck to Tania Lafond and Jacinthe Poirier. Congratulations!
