FORT MYERS, FL (August 1st, 2011) - *The Lakeland Flying Tigers dropped the Fort Myers Miracle, 11-2, in the final of a four game set and eight game homestand at Hammond Stadium on Monday night.

The Miracle went 1-7 on the homestand and followed a disturbing trend in Monday's loss to Lakeland. Edgar Ibarra was touched up for six runs in the first two innings to mark the twelfth time in the last 13 games that the Miracle have fallen behind before the third inning.

Ibarra gave up a two-run homer to Flying Tiger designated hitter Jordan Lennerton in the first inning. Wade Gaynor delivered a big blow in the second inning. With two out and the bases loaded, Gaynor doubled down the third base line to plate three runs. Gaynor completed the evening 4-for-5 at the plate with three doubles and four runs batted in.

Fort Myers picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. Dan Rohlfing scored on a wild pitch from Lakeland starter Zach Samuels. Then, Jamaal Hawkins earned a RBI on an infield hit.

Alex Wimmers toed the rubber in the third inning and lasted four, giving up five runs including a pair of homers to Avisail Garcia and Rob Brantly.

Ibarra (2-7) was saddled with the loss, but only two of the six runs scored off the left-hander were earned. The win was awarded to Cole Nelson (5-10) after three perfect innings in relief of Samuels.

Fort Myers (49-59, 15-23) has Tuesday off before returning to action for six games on the road. The Miracle will travel to McKechnie Field on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. showdown with the Bradenton Marauders.
