In the Bottom of the ninth, the Flyers tried to mount a comeback off of Julian Benavidez two-run homer, his third of the year, to cut the Seals lead to 6-3. Later in the ninth, Jim Goethals and Sergio Pedroza were on first and second for Steve Boggs to be the tying runner at the plate, but he lined into a game-ending double play for the Seals win.
