Adirondack Phantoms News Release
The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have re-signed defensemen Erik Gustafsson and Oliver Lauridsen. Gustafsson was signed to a one-year deal and Lauridsen received a two-year contract.
Erik Gustafsson, 24, recorded 22 points (5 goals, 17 assists) in 39 games with the Adirondack Phantoms this past season. He also played in 27 games for Philadelphia notching eight points (three goals, five assists). After his last recall from the Phantoms on March 28, Gustafsson played an even larger role with the Flyers averaging over 20 minutes per games. He has played in 60 career games with Philadelphia over parts of the past three seasons tallying 13 points (four goals, nine assists).
Gustafsson won a gold medal for his native Sweden in May at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships with a goal and an assist in 10 games. He led the team in total ice-time (23:59) in their gold-medal game triumph against Switzerland and finished the tournament with a team-high plus-7 rating.
Gustafsson rates among the all-time leaders in Adirondack Phantoms' history in several departments. The undrafted free-agent from Northern Michigan University is the all-time assists leader in franchise history with 82 and also has 95 career points (3rd) and 144 games (9th) with the Phantoms.
Oliver Lauridsen, 24, finished his second season with the Phantoms recording one goal and six points in 59 games. The seventh-round draft pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft has played in 126 career games with the Phantoms tallying four goals and nine assists.
He made his NHL debut for the Philadelphia Flyers on March 30 against the Boston Bruins and later recorded his first NHL goal on April 23 in a 5-2 victory against the Bruins. Lauridsen finished the season with Philadelphia notching three points (2 goals, 1 assists) along with 34 penalty minutes in 15 games. He averaged 15 minutes per game in that debut NHL recall.
The Gentofte, Denmark native also represented his country in the World Championships following the Flyers season. Lauridsen led the Danes in total ice-time (23:43) against Sweden in their final game of the preliminary round and finished the World Championships averaging over
18 minutes in seven games.
