Orange County Flyers News Release

The Orange County Flyers and the Chico Outlaws have squared off in two one-run classics to start the first-place deciding four-game series at Nettleton Stadium, but the Flyers have finished on the wrong end of both contests.

The Outlaws scored Jesse Kovacs, who doubled with one out, on a game-winning base-hit by Scott Dragicevich. Todd Gelatka got the win by throwing a scoreless 10th inning in relief. The Outlaws bullpen threw four scoreless innings of relief.

For the second straight night, the Flyers bullpen blew a three-run lead to lose by a run. RP Brandon Thompson struggled with his control and was credited with giving up all three runs.

The Flyers took the 5-2 lead when Scott Goodman homered for the 3rd consecutive night. The Flyers were gifted three runs in the 5th inning when Chico made two errors.

Chico now leads the GBL standings by a game and a half with two key games set to come on the weekend. All the action can be heard on KWRM 1370 AM and orangecountyflyers.com .
