Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) has added linebacker Keyonvis (kee-on-vis) ?Ke-ke? (kee-kee) Bouie (boo-ee) to bolster the Storm?s defense. This season will mark Bouie?s first season of professional football.

Bouie comes to Sioux Falls after spending training camp in 2007 with the New Orleans Saints. Bouie was picked up by the Saints as an undrafted free agent following the 2007 NFL Draft. Before starting his professional career, Bouie played college football at Florida International University (FIU). In his senior season in 2006, he was named College Football News?s Sunbelt Conference (SBC) Defensive Player of the Year. Despite missing the final two games due to injury, he cranked out 69 solo stops and was in on 51 assisted tackles to lead the SBC in tackles.

Bouie recorded 20 tackles against Alabama, which were one short of the all-time school record for stops in a single game. He was named SBC Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 20, after registering 18 tackles against Louisiana-Lafayette, which set a new single-season tackle record (119) and also set a new career record with 299 tackles at FIU. Bouie ranked fifth nationally and first in the Sun Belt with 12 tackles per game and fourth in Division I-A with 1.8 tackles for loss per game.

In 2005, Bouie set the previous FIU single-season record with 118 tackles in just nine games, which ranked fifth-best in NCAA Division I-A. Bouie also led the team in interceptions with three. He was named to the SBC?s All Conference First Team and was named Sun Belt Conference?s Defensive Player of the Year.

As a sophomore in 2004, he battled through injuries to see action in nine games. Despite missing a game and not making a tackle in his first two contests, he still finished among the top 10 tacklers on the squad. In 2003 as a true freshman, Keyonvis saw extensive playing time as a backup at middle linebacker. He played in eight games and made at least two stops in every contest.
