Blackburn Named UIF Player of the Week

United Indoor Football (UIF) has announced that Storm linebacker Mark Blackburn has been named UIF Defensive Player of the Week. Blackburn leads the team in tackles with 49.5 and is the Storm?s all-time leader with 628 tackles involved in.

Last Saturday against the RiverCity Rage, Blackburn had eight solo tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, intercepted a pass in the Storm's 60-13 victory. Blackburn also forced and recovered a fumble and returned it for a touchdown in the 4th quarter. Blackburn was a key component for the Storm's stellar defense that held RiverCity to only one touchdown in the game.

Other players recognized this week were James McNear of Omaha as Offensive Player of the Week and Hurtis Chinn of RiverCity as Special Teams Player of the Week.
