Florida Firecats Remain Third in Week Six Coaches Poll

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats received 396 points to remain third in the Week Six Coaches Poll, the arenafootball2 (af2) league office announced today. The Firecats finished in the third spot for a third consecutive week after a 51-41 road victory over South Division rival South Georgia last Saturday. Florida received one first place vote for a second straight week.

By securing 442 out of a possible 448 points, the defending ArenaCup champion Tulsa Talons maintained the top spot in the poll for the sixth consecutive week. The Talons continued their perfect start to the 2008 season by handing the Lubbock Renegades their first loss of the season, 69-53, Saturday night in Lubbock. The Spokane Shock maintained their grip on the number two spot for a fifth straight week after beating West Division rival Central Valley 42-40 last weekend. Florida, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Lubbock rounded out the top five.

Each week during the season, af2 coaches vote for the Top 16 teams in the league by ranking them one through 16. The complete Top 16 is listed below. The number in parentheses indicates the number of first place votes the team received.
