Flores shuts down Cubs to lead Sox to 3-1 victory

Sky Sox starter Randy Flores pitched 8 great innings allowing 0 runs and only 5 hits, striking out 5 and walking 1 in a 3-1 Sox victory. Jesus Sanchez recorded his 1st save of the year closing down the 9th after Brad Clontz got into trouble. David Newhan led the Sox offense with a triple to lead off the game, and his 2nd home run of the year in the 7th inning. The Sox and Cubs play again tomorrow night at Sky Sox Stadium with the Sox sending Scott Elarton (1-3, 3.76) to the bump against the Cubs Todd Wellemeyer (1-1, 2.77).
