Florence Takes Rubber Game of Series with Boulders

Rockland County, NY - The Florence Y'Alls took the rubber game of their three-game series with the host New York Boulders, posting a 14-6 win on Sunday at Clover Stadium in Pomona.

The Y'Alls pounded out 19 hits in the win with Anthony Brocato registering four hits and Ethan Stern recording three hits. Meanwhile, Bryant Flete had four RBI for Florence, while Alberti Chavez and Craig Massey knocked in three runs apiece.

Florence scored early and often, plating three runs each in the first through third innings and two in the fourth to bolt out to an 11-3 lead.

In the first inning, the Y'Alls got a run-scoring single by Massey and a two-run single from Flete. An inning later, Chavez knocked in a run with a single and Brocato two with a double, The three-run third included a two-run single off the bat of Chavez; while both fourth inning runs scored on Flete's fourth home run of the season.

Trailing 9-0, New York scored three times in the third - the RBIs coming on a double by Jake MacKenzie and singles from David Vinsky and Francisco Del Valle.

The Boulders added two runs on MacKenzie's 12th home run of the season in the seventh inning - his second and third RBI of the night, as well as his third hit of the contest.

Edgar Martinez started and got the win for Florence, improving to 3-4 on the season; while New York starter Alex Mack took the loss, his second of the year against five victories.
