
Flint Scores Three in Second to Beat Bloomington 4-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Flint scored three second period goals en route to a 4-1 victory over the Bloomington PrairieThunder before a season-best crowd of 3,887 people Friday night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in International Hockey League action.
Justin Styffe found the net first for the Generals with 13:42 remaining in the seconf period off assists by Derrick Ryan and Kris Mallette.
Flint added its second goal of the period when Greg Bullock scored with 9:21 left off assists by Steve Rymsha and Kyle Deck. The third Generals' goal came from Deck with assists going to John DiPace and Bullock with 7:04 to go in the period.
Don Parsons scored the lone PrairieThunder goal with 13:52 remaining in the game off assists from Leo Thomas and Shaun Fisher. The goal was the 670th of Parson's career, leaving him eight short of breaking Kevin Kerr's all-time minor league professional hockey record of 677.
Flint scored its final goal with 1:14 left in the game on a DiPace goal with Rymsha getting the assist. Flint improved its record to 4-5-1-0 (nine points) and moved ahead of the PrairieThunder, which has a 4-3-0-0 mark (eight points).
Rookie Ryan Ludzik suffered his first loss of the season in two games in his first starting assignment at home. He saved 24 of 28 shots. Flint was 2 for 6 on the power play.
The victory also snapped a two-game winning streak (six dating back to last season) by the PrairieThunder over Flint. The PrairieThunder returns to action Saturday night with a 6:30 contest at Fort Wayne.
