Fleisher's 10th Inning Home Run Not Enough In 9-8 Extra-Inning Loss To Asheville

Asheville, NC - Mark Fleisher?s two-run home run in the 10th inning put the Intimidators (23-24) in front but the Asheville Tourists (29-21) fought back and scored three times in the bottom half of the inning for a 9-8 victory at McCormick Field.

The Intimidators started the 10th with a lead-off single from Eduardo Escobar. Three batters later Fleisher unloaded his 12th home run of the season over the left field wall.

In the bottom of the 10th, Leroy Hunt walked the lead-off hitter Brian Rike. Darin Holcomb followed with a single and Jeffrey Cunningham was walked so the bases were loaded. Bo Bowman drove in two runs on a single to tie the game at eight. After a Kevin Clark sacrifice bunt, David Christensen delivered a walk-off single.

Hunt (2-5) took the loss giving up three runs in 0.1 innings on three hits and two walks.

Offensively for the Intimidators, Christian Marrero finished 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and a double. Joining Marrero in the three-hit department was Brent Morel going 3-for-5. Matt Inouye also added a solo home run.

The Intimidators continue the eight-game roadtrip tomorrow night in Asheville. The first pitch is set for 7:05pm. Coverage starts at intimidatorsbaseball.com with Dan Bumpus at 6:50pm.
