
Flash Untouched in 2014 Expansion Draft

Elma, N.Y. (Friday, January 10, 2014) - On Friday, the National Women's Soccer League held its first-ever Expansion Draft, and the Western New York Flash were the lone team to leave the draft with no player selected.
The Flash had eight unprotected players on the board, which were announced on Wednesday. The league's first expansion team, the Houston Dash, was allowed to select 10 players from all teams' unprotected lists to continue filling its roster.
The complete list of Houston's selections is as follows:
1. Brittany Bock (Sky Blue FC)
2. Tiffany McCarty (Washington)
3. Lauren Sesselmann (FC Kansas City/CAN)
4. Meleana Shim (Portland)
5. Ella Masar (Chicago)
6. Meghan Klingenberg (Boston/USA)
7. Arianna Romero (Seattle/MEX)
8. Becky Edwards (Portland)
9. Danesha Adams (Sky Blue FC)
10. Gabriella Toulouse (Washington)
All nine teams will next turn their attention to the 2014 College Draft, which will take place on Friday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. (ET) at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention in Philadelphia.
With the conclusion of the draft, all teams are also allowed to continue the trade process.
