
Houston Dash Select Lauren Sesselmann in Expansion Draft

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kansas (January 10, 2014) - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) will feature nine teams in 2014. The Houston Dash, NWSL's newest team, took the next step towards completing their roster by selecting ten (10) players in the first-ever NWSL Expansion Draft.
In the third round of the draft, the Dash selected FC Kansas City defender and Canadian Allocation, Lauren Sesselmann. In 2013, Sesselmann only missed three games, appearing in and starting 19 matches. Along with United States' allocated player, Becky Sauerbrunn, she anchored a back line that allowed the second-fewest goals in the league.
Houston also selected Brittany Bock (Sky Blue FC), Tiffany McCarty (Washington), Meleana Shim (Portland Thorns), Ella Masar (Chicago), Meghan Klingenberg (Boston), Arianna Romero (Seattle Reign FC), Becky Edwards (Portland Thorns), Danesha Adams (Sky Blue FC) and Kika Toulouse (Washington).
Up next for FC Kansas City is the 2014 NWSL College Draft on January 17th at 9:00a.m. CT. FC Kansas City is scheduled to have the fifth overall selection, along with the 12th, 20th and 35th picks.
FC Kansas City is a Women's Professional Soccer Team competing in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). The "Blues" Inaugural Season saw them set numerous NWSL records and sweep all six individual post-season awards.
