NWSL Announces 2014 Expansion Draft Results

CHICAGO (Jan. 10, 2014) - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) has announced the official results of the 2014 NWSL Expansion Draft. The Houston Dash selected ten players earlier today, including allocated National Team players Meghan Klingenberg (USA), Arianna Romero (Mexico) and Lauren Sesselmann (Canada).

The Dash will continue to build their roster via the 2014 NWSL College Draft which will take place on Friday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. (ET) at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention in Philadelphia.

The league's second annual college draft will consist of a total of 36 selections made over four rounds, the order for which was originally set by reverse finish at the end of the 2013 NWSL regular season.

As the lone expansion club to join the NWSL this season, the Houston Dash will have the second pick in the first-round as well as the first pick in the second, third and fourth-rounds of the College Draft. For the complete College Draft order, 2704578feb39130c0b8e9b1f8 click here .

The draft will be held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and will be open to the public. Fans will also be able to follow the draft on NWSLsoccer.com as well as on Twitter (@NWSL).

The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a nine-team Division-I women's professional soccer league featuring national team players from Canada, Mexico and the U.S. The nine clubs are the Boston Breakers, Chicago Red Stars, Houston Dash, FC Kansas City, Portland Thorns FC, Seattle Reign FC, Sky Blue FC, the Washington Spirit and the Western New York Flash.
