Flames Recall Irving, Assign Karlsson

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today they have recalled goaltender Leland Irving from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League and have assigned Henrik Karlsson to Abbotsford on a two week conditioning stint.

Irving, a native of Swan Hills, Alberta, played in his first four NHL games earlier this season and registered his first ever win on December 23rd making 29 saves in a 3-1 road win in Vancouver. He had a .908% save percentage and a 3.67 goals against average with a 1-1-2 record.

Next home action for the Heat comes Thursday from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary where the Heat host the Oklahoma City Barons (Edmonton Oilers); the two clubs meet again at the AESC two nights later on Saturday the 11th of February.
