Aeros Fall to Admirals 2-1

HOUSTON --- Jeff Taffe had a goal and Matt Hackett made 26 saves for the Houston Aeros in a 2-1 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday at Toyota Center in front of a crowd of 8,410.

Kris Foucault had an assist for Houston, which is now 23-12-3-9 but remains seven points back of the Oklahoma City Barons in the AHL's West Division and three points ahead of Abbotsford for second in the West Division despite the loss.

Taffe cut the Milwaukee lead to 2-1 at 6:47 in the third period with his ninth goal of the season.

Blake Geoffrion put Milwaukee up 1-0 with a goal at 1:40 in the second period, and Kyle Wilson made it 2-0 with a power play goal at 7:22 in the second.

Atte Engren had 24 saves for the Admirals.

The Aeros begin an 11-game road trip Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Chicago against the Chicago Wolves. Houston will return home March 10 against Grand Rapids at 7:35 p.m at Toyota Center.
