Crunch Announce Roster Moves

Syracuse, NY (February 5, 2012) - The Syracuse Crunch have announced today that the Anaheim Ducks have returned goaltender Jeff Deslauriers to the Crunch and recalled goaltender Iiro Tarkki.

Deslauriers, 27, made his Anaheim Ducks debut on January 10 when he appeared in the Ducks 5-2 win over the Dallas Stars. Prior to being recalled by the Ducks on January 10 Deslauriers had appeared in 14 games for the Crunch with a 6-7-0-0 record. Deslauriers averaged 3.68 goals-against and had a .877 save percentage with the Crunch this season. Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the second round, 31st overall, of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Deslauriers was acquired by the Ducks as a free agent on July 12, 2011.

Tarkki, 26, made his NHL debut earlier this season during the Anaheim Ducks January 8 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Tarkki has played in 28 games for the Crunch this year with a 10-13-3-2 record. Tarkki has recorded a 2.85 goals-against average and .914 save percentage. Tarkki was signed as a free agent on May 6, 2011 after spending the 2010-11 season with the Espoo of the Finnish Elite League.

The Crunch travel to Connecticut to take on the Whale on February 7 before returning home to host the Hershey Bears at the War Memorial on February 10.
