
Five Split Series in St. John's, Return to Sudbury Wednesday

(Greater Sudbury, ON) After a successful weekend in Newfoundland to open their first-round playoff series, the Five return home for Games 3 and 4 of the series this wwek.
In their first-ever playoff game, the Five took game one of the series in a hard-fought 100-99 victory against the Edge. Cory Dixon and Braylon Rayson led the way with 24 and 22 points, while Yohanny Dalembert recorded the first ever playoff double-double in team history with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Five and Edge reconvened at Mile One Centre Sunday for an afternoon matinee showdown in game 2 of the best-of-five series. The Edge evened the series at one game apiece with a 102- 92 victory. Jaylen Bland led all players with 29 points, while Cory Dixon finished with a double- double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The teams will travel to Sudbury for the second half of the series, with Game 3 taking place Wednesday at 7:05 PM. Prior to the game, United Way and the United Five will be hosting a tailgate party with face painting and a free BBQ for all those attending the game. Festivities will start at 5:00 PM. Prior to tip off, the Five will also recognize members of the team who received NBL Canada league awards, including Jaylen Bland who was named NBL Canada Newcomer of the Year and Logan Stutz who was named the NBL Canada Ian Fowler Executive of the Year. Details on the final award recipient will be released later today.
Game 4 of the series will go Friday at 7:05 PM. Friday's game will be sponsored by Mucho Burrito, with a taco bar on the court for those attending the game! Fans are encouraged to once again arrive early to take part in the United Way and United Five tailgate starting at 5:00 PM.
