Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

San Jose, CA - Five different players combined to hit five solo home runs, as Rancho Cucamonga rallied from an early deficit to defeat the San Jose Giants by a score of 5-3 on Monday night at Municipal Stadium.

Connor Wong (17), Jared Walker (12), Carlos Rincon (2), Nick Yarnall (4) and Cristian Santana (19) all went yard, as the Quakes snapped a three-game losing streak on the current road trip and earned manager Drew Saylor his 223rd career win, putting him in a tie with former manager Mike Basso (1996-1998) for the most managerial wins in team history.

Wong's blast gave the Quakes a 1-0 lead just two batters into the game, but Rancho starter Leo Crawford struggled early, as he got touched for three in the first to fall behind, 3-1.

After Walker went deep in the third against Giants' starter Carlos Sano, the game remained 3-2 until the seventh. Giants' reliever Peter Lannoo (1-7) gave up back-to-back jacks to open the seventh, as Rincon tied the game and Yarnall put Rancho ahead to stay at 4-3.

Santana took big-leaguer Hunter Strickland deep in the eighth, giving the Quakes some insurance at 5-3.

Connor Strain (1-2) combined with Logan Salow and Andre Scrubb to work four scoreless frames out of the Rancho bullpen, with Scrubb collecting his third save of the year with a scoreless ninth.

Rancho (68-47, 33-12) will send newcomer Edwin Uceta to the hill on Tuesday as he makes his Cal League debut. Lefty Mac Marshall (0-3) will counter for San Jose, with game time set for 7;00pm.

On Frirday, the Quakes return to LoanMart Field to host the Lancaster JetHawks. Friday is Walker Buehler Bobblehead Giveaway, thanks to Allstar Kia, as 1,500 fans will take home a bobblehead. Gates open at 6:05pm and game time is 7:05pm. Tickets are available online at rcquakes.com or by calling (909) 481-5000. Go Quakes!
