
Five-Run Fifth Spurs Royals Win

PEORIA, AZ - Down 2-0 entering the fifth inning Wednesday, the Omaha Royals rallied for five runs and a 5-3 victory over the Tacoma Rainiers. The win ups Omaha's Cactus League record to 8-3-1.
Nick Van Stratten ignited the fifth frame outburst with a two-run triple. Irving Falu followed with an RBI single, Mike Aviles doubled home a run and Shane Costa delivered an RBI single for the Royals fifth consecutive hit.
On the mound, right-hander Julio Pimentel started for Omaha. He went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits, while striking out one. Lefty Anthony Bradley worked the next two frames, giving up a run on a hit and a walk. Chris Hayes finished with two hitless innings, walking one batter.
Omaha concludes its Cactus League schedule on Thursday, facing the Oklahoma RedHawks, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, at the Spring Training facility that the Royals and Rangers organizations share in Surprise, Arizona.
