
Five-Game Road Trip Begins for Bullfrogs

Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs begin their five-game road trip at 3:05 p.m. in Wisconsin Rapids following last night's victory over the Rafters at Joannes Stadium.
The Bullfrogs scored seven runs in the first inning when Wisconsin Rapids starter Chris Farwell struggled to find the strike zone and walked the first three batters he faced. Green Bay scored on a sacrifice fly from Ryan Donovan, which was followed by three more walks as Farwell exited.
John Jaeger came on in relief and hit his first batter Mikey Duarte. Ty Blankmeyer reached on an error, Logan Taylor singled, and Robb Paller's sacrifice fly extended the Bullfrogs' lead to 7-0.
Green Bay has scored 19 runs in the first inning of its last six games.
Ryan Radue earned the win for the Bullfrogs. He allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts to improve to 4-0 on the season.
Radue gave up three consecutive singles in the bottom of the second, as the Rafters cut the lead to four with three runs in the inning. Zack Domingues and Ernie Clement each recorded RBI for Wisconsin Rapids.
The score remained the same until the bottom of the sixth when the Bullfrogs scored another run to extend their lead. Logan Taylor reached on an error to score Desi Ammons, who doubled to lead off the inning.
Ammons finished 2-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored and a RBI.
Wisconsin Rapids scored in the top of the eighth with a towering home run hit by Jake Sandlin to cut the deficit to four.
The Rafters added another run in the ninth with another solo shot to the nearly the same spot over the right-field wall for Domingues.
Jeremy Graf entered the game and allowed a single and a RBI groundout. He struck out pinch-hitter Alex Herceg to end the game.
Chad Dullnig will make his first start of the season for the Bullfrogs. He appeared in 10 games for Ranger College this spring and struck out 10 batters in 18 1/3 innings pitched. Dullnig was also used as a utility player for the Rangers and batted .352 with three home runs and 17 RBI.
The Rafters will begin with Jack Riley on the mound, making his fifth start of the season. He comes into today's game with a 2-0 record and a 1.35 earned run average in 26 2/3 innings pitched. Riley threw seven shutout innings in his last start, a 2-1 win over the Madison Mallards on the road.
Following the current road trip, the Bullfrogs will return to Joannes Stadium on July 9 against the Kalamazoo Growlers for a variety of promotional items.
The first ladies through the gate will receive an ice cream scoop to use post game for the Diamonds & Gold Diamond Dig. WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler will be making a special guest appearance to sign autographs for fans and throw out the first pitch.
Beers will be half price from the time gates open until the end of the fifth inning for Thirsty Thursday. Game time will be at 7:05, and gates open one hour prior to the first pitch.
