Five Blazers Attending NHL Summer Development Camps

Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have five players that are attending various NHL summer development camps. Cole Ully (Dallas), Collin Shirley (Dallas), Ryan Rehill (New Jersey), Matt Needham (New Jersey) and Chase Souto (Anaheim) all are attending camps this month.

The Dallas Stars development camp goes from July 9-12 in Frisco, Texas. Cole Ully will be attending his second Stars development camp after being selected in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Draft by the Stars.

Collin Shirley will be attending his first pro camp after not being selected in the 2014 NHL Draft. The 18-year-old had 14 goals and 27 points in 70 games last season split between the Blazers and the Kootenay Ice.

Ryan Rehill will be attending his first summer development camp after being selected by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Draft. The 19-year-old rearguard had four goals and 20 points last season as he played in all 72 games.

Matt Needham is attending his second NHL development camp after joining Ully at the Stars' camp last summer. The 19-year-old played only 48 games this past season due to injuries, but still managed to collect 35 points along with a team leading +3 rating.

Chase Souto is attending his hometown Anaheim Ducks development camp which concludes today. The 20-year-old battled the injury bug last season, but still managed to score 20 goals and collect 31 points in 47 games.
