Five 67's Players Ranked by NHL Central Scouting

OTTAWA - Five members of the Ottawa 67's appear in the latest edition of NHL Central Scouting's North American Skater Rankings, released today.

Forwards, Brad Gardiner, Luca Pinelli, Cooper Foster, and Chris Barlas, as well as defenceman Matthew Mayich, have been ranked at 43, 49, 74, 171, and 122, respectively.

Gardiner, 17, is enjoying a breakout season with the 67's, after appearing in 53 games a season ago. A product of Aurora, Ontario, Gardiner has scored 16 goals and 10 assists, for 26 points in 37 games, this year.

Son of former NHLer Bruce Gardiner, he was selected in the third round, 40th overall, by the 67's in 2021.

Pinelli, 17, is among the 67's top scorers, this season. The Stoney Creek, Ontario native has appeared in all 37 games, and has already set new career high's in every statistical category, with 17 goals and 26 assists, for 43 points.

Drafted in the second round, 28th overall, by the Barber Poles in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection, Pinelli will join Team White at the 2023 Kubota CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game.

Foster, 17, was limited to 14 games a year ago, while earning MVP honours, and numerous other accolades with the Soo Thunderbirds (NOJHL). The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native has suited up for every game with the 67's during the 2022-23 campaign, with 14 goals and 12 assists, for 26 points.

Foster was selected in the second round, 32nd overall, by Ottawa in 2021.

Barlas, 18, has also eclipsed his career high's set last season, having appeared in 48 games a year ago. Through 37 contests this season, the local product has scored eight goals and 11 assists, for 19 points, 16 of which have come since November 15.

He was drafted 12th overall by Ottawa in 2021.

Mayich, 18, has served as a pillar on the Ottawa blue line during his sophomore campaign, boasting a plus-minus rating of 13. After scoring 11 points in 60 games a year ago, the Stoney Creek product already has 12 in 35 games, this season, with two goals and 10 assists.

Mayich was a fourth-round, 74th overall, pick of the 67's in 2020.

Two 67's draftees were also listed among the rankings; with Connor, and Ryan MacPherson coming in at 134, 223, respectively.
