
Fisher Cats Play Longball in 6-5 Win at Bowie

Bowie, MD- The Fisher Cats hit four home runs in a span of seven at-bats in the third and fourth innings and held on for a 6-5 win Monday afternoon to salvage the final game of a four-game series at Southern Division-leading Bowie.
Ryan Klosterman hit a two-run home run off Bowie starting pitcher Craig Anderson in the top of the third inning to give New Hampshire an early 2-0 lead.
Bowie (32-19), which saw its 15-game home field winning streak snapped in the contest, took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Nolan Reimold (2-for-4) doubled home Carlos Rojas and Lou Montanez to tie the game. Ryan Finan hit a sacrifice fly to put the Baysox in front and end the afternoon for Fisher Cats starting pitcher Brett Cecil.
Cecil, who has been on a limited pitch count as he transitions from the bullpen into a starting role, worked 2.2 innings, his shortest outing for the Fisher Cats.
New Hampshire (16-32) went back in front in the top of the fourth inning. Anderson allowed solo home runs to Ryan Patterson, Travis Snider and Brian Jeroloman before being lifted. The four home runs hit in the game was a season-high for the Fisher Cats.
Bowie cut the deficit to 5-4 when Jeff Nettles hit his Eastern League-leading 11th homer, a solo shot off Jamie Vermilyea (3-2) in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Baysox tied the game at 5-5 in the last of the sixth inning. Catcher Brian Peterson (2-for-4) doubled , went to third on a groundout by Sebastien Boucher and scored on a single by Blake Davis.
New Hampshire scored the game-winning run in the top of the seventh inning in the top of the seventh inning. Anthony Hatch (2-for-4) singled off reliever Rommie Lewis (0-3), went to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt by Jonathan Diaz and scored on another wild pitch.
Jamie Vermilyea worked four innings in relief and earned the win for the Fisher Cats. Daryl Harang retired the four batters he faced in a solid relief outing. Zach Dials earned his fifth save with a perfect ninth inning.
The Fisher Cats continue their road trip in Trenton on Tuesday night. They will complete a game suspended on May 18th with New Hampshire leading 1-0 in the 4th inning before playing the regularly scheduled game with the Thunder. The suspended game will be resumed at 6:05pm. Radio coverage begins at 5:45pm on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network with Bob Lipman.
