New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Norwich, CT- Second baseman Dominic Rich's throwing error with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 10th inning allowed Doug Clark to score the winning run in the Norwich Navigators 7-6 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Wednesday night at Dodd Memorial Stadium in Norwich, CT.
New Hampshire (33-31) fought back from a 6-0 deficit to force extra innings on SS Aaron Hill's two-out single in the top of the ninth that scored Anton French from third base. French led off the inning with a pinch-hit single off winning pitcher Alberto Montes (4-3). Justin Singleton followed with a single, tying the team record by hitting safely in his 12th consecutive game. But Singleton took too wide a turn around third on Hill's single and fell down attempting to scramble back to the bag. He was tagged for the final out of the inning.
John Ogiltree (1-3) took the loss, allowing only the unearned run in the 10th inning.
Norwich catcher Justin Knoedler hit an inside-the-park two-run home run in the second inning off Gustavo Chacin.
Rich led the New Hampshire offense with three hits. RF Maikel Jova had two RBIs.
The Fisher Cats and Navigators wrap up their three-game series Thursday night at 7:05pm. Todd Ozias (5-3, 2.84) pitches for New Hampshire against Chris Begg (2-1, 3.05). Coverage begins at 6:35pm on the WKXL Fisher Cats Radio Network, on-line at www.fishercatsradio.com.
