--Altoona (37-26) enters Wednesday's game at Harrisburg with a share of first place in the Eastern League's Southern Division with Erie (36-25). The Curve has its best record through 63 games in franchise history and today marks the latest date that the club has led or shared the division lead
--Curve 2B Jeff Keppinger is on a tear at the plate. Here's a breakdown of his recent success...
-Leads the E.L. and ranks 2nd in all of minor league baseball with a .398 average
-Currently has a season-best 13-game hitting streak, during which he's batting an incredible .509 (27-for-53)
-Has posted seven consecutive multi-hit games, which includes three (3) two-hit games, three (3) three-hit contests and a four-hit effort (last night)âis batting .613 (19-31) during those last seven games
-Is batting .466 (27-for-58) in 14 games in June
--OF Nate McLouth, who had his 18-game hitting streak stopped on Sunday in Reading, has reached base safely via hit or walk in 20 consecutive games, leaving him just seven games shy of equaling the club record of 27 straight games set by J.J. Davis in 2002
--In this recent stretch that has seen the team go 10-1 in its last 11, Curve starters have picked up wins in nine of the contests
Just a quick reminder that this Friday's original gametime was 7:05 p.m., but the Curve and Erie SeaWolves will be resuming the suspended game from May 2nd beginning at 5:35 p.m. on Friday at Blair County Ballpark. The game will be picked up with Erie batting in the Top of the 2nd with one out and no men on base in a scoreless game and played to a nine-inning completion. The regularly scheduled contest will follow and be played to seven innings. Gates will open to the public at 5:00 (4:50 season ticket holders).
