Fisher Cats and CHaD Announce Partnership Campaign

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


Manchester - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays and the 2004 Eastern League Champions, along with Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) announced a 2005 partnership campaign, "Teaming up for NH's Kids". At a joint press conference held at Fisher Cats Ballpark today, members of both organizations along with CHaD patients and their families gathered to kick-off the partnership.

"Thank you, New Hampshire Fisher Cats for your commitment and interest in children of our region," said Steve Paris, MD, medical director, Dartmouth-Hitchcock, Manchester. "We're extremely pleased the Fisher Cats have teamed up with CHaD as charity partners. The Fisher Cats support in helping to raise awareness and funds for CHaD is remarkable and greatly appreciated."

Elaine Gilman, grandmother to four-year old Hailey Gelinas, a CHaD patient who struggles with cerebral palsy was present to say a few words about the care her family has received, "Taking Hailey to CHaD has always been a pleasant experience. They have always been very helpful in assisting us in receiving outside services and sometimes outside resources for special medical services. I was pleased to hear that the Fisher Cats have teamed up with CHaD to help raise awareness so these children may have a glimpse of a brighter future."

"On behalf of the NH Fisher Cats we're pleased to partner with such an exceptional organization as CHaD," said Jeff Tagliaferro, Fisher Cats assistant GM. "We feel together we can raise awareness of child health issues and raise financial support for the children who receive care from Children's Hospital at Dartmouth."

Highlights of the 2005 Fisher Cats season include:

· For every homerun at Fisher Cats Ballpark a $20 donation will be made to CHaD- co-sponsored by Bonneville & Sons

· Six 50/50 raffles at Fisher Cats Ballpark

· 2005 Jeep Wrangler raffle – 350 tickets at $100 per ticket will be sold

· 2005 Fisher Cats Baseball Dinner (Date TBD) proceeds to benefit CHaD

The NH Fisher Cats, the Double-A affiliate team of the Toronto Blue Jays opened its 2005 season at its newly constructed ballpark located downtown along the banks of the Merrimack River. Park amenities include; interior batting and pitching cages located under the concourse, 6,500 seats in various parts of the park including a picnic and party area, field-level seats, and 32 luxury suites with catering services, the park is also designed with a 19,000 square foot kids playing area. All player, coaching and official areas meet major league specifications, including a retractable wall to accommodate "batters eye."
