The 8th place Saginaw Spirit (72 points) are within striking distance of the 5th place seed, which is now held by the Guelph Storm (75 points) courtesy their win over the league leading Kitchener Rangers last night. The Plymouth Whalers (73 points) are in 6th place and the Sarnia Sting (72 points) are in 7th place. The Sting edge out the Spirit in the standings thanks to a higher win total.

If the playoffs started today, the Spirit would find themselves facing the Rangers in the first round. The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds would face-off against the Sting while the Windsor Spitfires would play against the Plymouth Whalers. The London Knights would take on the Storm.
