
First-place Mammoth tops Rush

EDMONTON, Alberta - The Colorado Mammoth completed a sweep of the home-and-home series with the Edmonton Rush with a 13-8 victory on Saturday night.
Jamie Shewchuk had four goals and three assists and Gavin Prout scored three goals to put the first-place Mammoth (9-6) a full game ahead of the San Jose Stealth in the National Lacrosse League's West Division.
The Mammoth and Stealth play on Friday night in San Jose to decide the division title. The Mammoth has already clinched a home playoff game and will host a West Division Semifinal at Pepsi Center, likely to be played on Saturday, May 3.
Saturday was the Mammoth's third victory of the season over the Rush (4-11) and improved its record to 7-0 all-time against Edmonton.
Jed Prossner, Brian Langtry and Nick Carlson each added two goals for the Mammoth and Chris Levis earned the victory in goal.
Ben Prepchuk and Mike Hominuck each scored twice for the Rush and Jimmy Quinlan had a game-high five assists. Curtis Palidwor took the loss in goal.
