Published on March 16, 2006 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) and ABA Entertainment today announced Cedric Hollywood as one of the judges for the open auditions in the nationwide talent search, Starz in Motion's SHOOTING STARZ.
Cedric Hollywood is one of America's leading radio program directors. He was most recently the program director at 99 Jamz, the #1 Arbitron-radio station in Miami, Florida. Cedric brought the station from the back of the pack, all the way to #1 shortly after he arrived at the station 8 years ago. He has discovered many artists and groups, by playing their music first. Most recently, he discovered "Pretty Ricky," when he was the first programmer to program their debut song "Flossin" and he was the original radio programmer to program Jamie Foxx's first #1 song, "Unpredictable."
The launch of Shooting Starz will be in Rochester, NY where Cedric launched his professional career in radio at WDKX. "Cedrick will bring a tremendous amount of experience to the competition, as he is proven in the industry to identify top notch talent. He's our "Randy Jackson" and he will be a well-respected addition to the competition," stated Angela Rizzi, VP of ABA Entertainment and founder of Starz in Motion.
The first audition for Shooting Starz makes its debut during the ABA Championship Playoffs being held March 22 through March 26 in Rochester NY where the top 10 teams of the ABA will compete for the Championship.
The Auditions for the remainder of the competition cities will be posted following the ABA Playoffs. These competitions will take place in ABA cities, tied in with exciting ARCA and NASCAR racing, and other special events. Semi-finalists selected from each city will be featured online at www.starzinmotion.com allowing for voting to take place over a designated period of time. Finalists will then be invited to perform at the Final Competition at the start of the ABA 2006/2007 Season. Winners will take part in STARZ IN MOTION, an ABA tour featuring winners along with the opportunity for recording contracts, production of an original song, and other prizes from our sponsors.
