ABA Entertainment to welcome players and fans at playoffs

March 16, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) and ABA Entertainment today announced it will welcome the Championship players, teams and ABA members at a Welcome Party on Tuesday, March 21 at The Keg in Rochester. Fans will have an opportunity to meet the players and get autographs from their favorite players. There will be ABA and RazorShark merchandise on hand for purchase and some prize giveaways.

The Keg has been a proud supporter of the Rochester RazorSharks throughout their inaugural season. The team and fans celebrated many victories at this official after game sports bar and grill. "We wanted to give the teams and fans a chance to mingle and get to know each other as being an accessible league is what the ABA is all about," stated Joe Newman, ABA CEO.

Angela Rizzi, VP of ABA Entertainment, will be the official hostess of the event. Ms. Rizzi, who is also the CEO of Prestige Promotions, a Miami-based company, has a long and distinguished background as an event planner and will conduct the first Shooting Starz talent search during playoff week in Rochester. (www.starzinmotion.com). Ms. Rizzi added, "The Keg features a separate facility upstairs, The German House, which will host our Shooting Starz talent competition on Thursday, Mar 23. This venue is a beautiful historic landmark serving the Rochester community for eight decades, catering to such events as concerts, live shows, weddings, meetings and other functions - a perfect place for our auditions." Downstairs is the Keg Sports Bar and Brill, serving up great food in a fun sports atmosphere. The address is 315 Gregory Street in Rochester, NY.

The Great 8 Championship Playoff Games begin on Wed, Mar 22 at The Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, NY with the remaining Final Games on Saturday and Sunday. Ticket packages for the entire series or individual games are available at www.rochesterrazorsharks.com. For more information about Shooting Starz, email angela@abalive.com or visit www.abalive.com.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
