Rochester Red Wings News Release


The Red Wings return home tomorrow to face the White Sox and Pirates Triple-A Affiliates. Below is a closer look at what's happening this homestand:

Date: Friday, May 8 Opponent: Charlotte Knights (White Sox)

Game Time: 7:05 p.m. Gates Open: 6:00 p.m.

-Post-game Fireworks -- Following the game fireworks will light up the sky for fans!

-ZOOperstars Appearance -- These zany inflatable characters will entertain fans throughout the game. You can also catch them at the Lilac Parade the next day!

-Lance Snack Foods Sampling -- Fans leaving the ballpark after the game will receive a free bag of a delicious Lance snack. Quantities limited.

-Friday Night Fish Fry -- Fans can stop by the Batter Up stand to enjoy a fish fry for only $8.00.

-Pre-game Autograph Session -- Selected Red Wings players will be available for autographs in the stadium concourse from 6:25 p.m.-6:45 p.m.

Date: Saturday, May 9 Opponent: Charlotte Knights (White Sox) Game Time: 7:05 p.m. Gates Open: 6:00 p.m.

-GO GREEN NIGHT -- Fans can learn about ‘Green' initiatives and products including vehicles from the Rochester Area Ford Dealers.

-Re-usable Bag Giveaway -- The first 1,500 fans will receive a re-usable grocery bag presented by Wegmans. -Wizard of Oz -- Characters from the RBTL production will be at the ballpark.

-Specialty Pizza Night -- Fans can stop by Mama Mittsy's to enjoy a specialty slice of pizza for only $4.25.

-Pre-game Autograph Session -- Selected Red Wings players will be available for autographs in the stadium concourse from 6:25 p.m.-6:45 p.m.

Date: Sunday, May 10 Opponent: Charlotte Knights (White Sox) Game Time: 1:35 p.m. Gates Open: 12:30 p.m.

-Mothers Day -- Following the game all kids and moms will be invited onto the field to play catch in the outfield. The first 500 mothers will also receive a carnation courtesy of Basch & Nickerson, LLP.

-Baseball Giveaway -- The first 1,000 kids 14 and under will get a baseball, presented by Basch & Nickerson. Following the game, we'll invite kids and their mothers to play catch in the outfield.

-Breast Cancer Awareness Day -- The Red Wings will wear pink jerseys to raise awareness of breast cancer. The actual jerseys worn will be auctioned off through a silent auction during the game, with the proceeds benefitting the Pluta Cancer Center.

-Lance (Snack Foods) Family Sunday -- Three wrappers from Lance products allow fans to receive a buy one, get one free ticket (of equal or lesser value) at the Box Office. Fans will also have a chance to win great prizes from Lance Snack Foods.

-Post-game Run the Bases with Spikes & Mittsy -- All kids 14 and under are invited to the field to run the bases with the Red Wings' mascots, Spikes & Mittsy, presented by Chili's Grill & Bar.

-Knot Hole Game -- Knot Hole members receive reduced admission to this and all Knot Hole games. In addition, parents of Knot Holers get $1 off their ticket prices, presented by Excellus BlueCross BlueShield.

-Family Bulletin Day -- Fans will receive $1 off any ticket by presenting a publication from any church, house of worship, civic, or nonprofit group (limit of four tickets, each at $1 off).

-Pre-game Autograph Session -- A selected Red Wings player will be availablefor autographs in the stadium concourse from 12:55 p.m.-1:15 p.m.

Date: Monday, May 11 Opponent: Charlotte Knights (White Sox) Game Time: 7:05 p.m. Gates Open: 6:00 p.m.

-Doug Marrone Autograph Appearance -- Syracuse University's new football coach will sign autographs from 6:00 p.m. - 6:50p.m.

-Kids Eat Free Day -- The first 500 kids 12 & under will receive a voucher to be redeemed for a hot dog, snack item and a soda, presented by Basch & Nickerson, LLP.

-Black Angus Special -- Chicken Pot Pie will be available at the Black Angus Stand for only $7.25.

-Season Seat Redemption Day -- Any unused season tickets can be exchanged for reserved seats on this day.

-Pre-game Autograph Session -- A selected Red Wings player will be available for autographs in the stadium concourse from 6:25 p.m.-6:45 p.m.

Date: Tuesday, May 12 Opponent: Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) Game Time: 7:05 p.m. Gates Open: 6:00 p.m.

-M&T Bank / Messenger Post Media Family Four-Pack - Stop by the Box Office and get four reserved seat tickets, four hot dogs, four 12-oz. sodas, and a 2009 yearbook for only $30 (a savings of $15.00!).

-Spicy Popcorn Chicken Special -- Fans can stop by the Batter Up concession

Date: Wednesday, May 13 Opponent: Indianapolis Indians (Pirates) Game Time: 11:05 a.m. Gates Open: 10:00 a.m.

-Businesspersons Special -- The ballpark becomes your office on this day. Special business card prize drawings will be conducted throughout the game.

-Education Day -- Students from the area will be on-had to enjoy the game, presented by Alfred State College.

-Red Wings Express -- The Red Wings Express will take fans from Rhinos Stadium Parking Lot (off Smith St.) to Frontier Field for weekday Red Wings home games. Parking in the Rhinos Stadium lots is $5 per vehicle; the Express shuttle service is free. Parking is also available in the Oak St. lot, one block from Frontier Field near Brown St. Kodak Lots C and D are not available for parking during weekday Red Wings home games.

-Democrat and Chronicle Wings Wednesday -- Check out the previousTuesday's Democrat and Chronicle for a $1.75-off ticket coupon.

-Boneless Chicken Wing Special -- Fans can stop by the Batter Up concession stand and enjoy Boneless Chicken Wings & Fries for only $5.25.

-Pre-game Autograph Session -- A selected Red Wings player will be available for autographs in the stadium concourse from 10:25 a.m.-10:45 a.m.

-Girl Scout Program Festival -- Rochester-area Girl Scouts will be at the ballpark enjoying the game.
