Fireworks After Friday's Game
June 12, 2014 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Wilmington Sharks News Release
The Wilmington Sharks are throwing a birthday party for their beloved mascot, Sharky. Sharky has been around since the Wilmington Sharks joined the Coastal Plain League in 1997, and has been the best mascot in the league year in and year out.
Bring your family out to Buck Hardee Field (The Shark Tank) for some affordable family fun, and see the Sharks take on the Morehead City Marlins. First pitch is at 7:05, but the gates open at 6pm. The new Kids Zone at the Shark Tank is a sight to be seen! The speed pitch and inflatable Shark bouncy house will have your kids smiling all throughout the night.
Make sure to stick around after the game for the fireworks! Sharky's birthday will be the first fireworks show above the new Shark Tank stadium. The next fireworks show will take place after the game on July 4th, 2014.
The Sharks came from behind to beat #1 Edenton Steamers 12-8 on Wednesday night, and travel to Wilson to play the Tobs on Thursday before returning to the Shark Tank for Sharky's Birthday on Friday. Friday's game will be the fifth of thirteen in a row for Wilmington.
