Florida Firecats News Release

Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats have faced many obstacles and opponents this year, but their fiercest competitor is headed their way.

"The hurricane's not stopping in Florida," Quincy Sorrell, defensive specialist, said. "We are the hurricane, and we're bringing the hurricane to Alabama."

With the Firecats storming into the second round of the playoffs, they attempt to focus all of their attention on their next opponent, but it is not on the turf on the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. Before the Firecats can play a down of their second round playoff match up against the Tennessee Valley Vipers, they must fight two hurricanes before they are able to board their flight to Alabama.

The Firecats, who have faced everything from injury to diversity to the tragic loss of a teammate this season, must now stand up to the ugly face of Mother Nature. When the season started, the Firecats were worried if they would be able to make it to the second round of the playoffs. The Firecats put in the work to make it to the second round of the playoffs, but, with two hurricanes steadily approaching the gulf coast of southwestern Florida, the Firecats are worried if they will be able to make the trip to Alabama to play the game at all.

The Firecats want to focus on the aerial attack of Josh Kellett and Jerrian James, but the names of the biggest threats from the sky are that of Bonnie and Charley. Bonnie is scheduled to hit tomorrow, while Charley is following right behind Bonnie.

On thing that the Firecats have succeeded at this season is defying the odds. No matter what has happened to this team, they have stepped up and performed. The 2004 Firecats squad remains focused on their goal of a championship, and they will not settle for any less.

Firecat fans can tune into the radio broadcast with Dave Parks on ESPN-770 AM, or they can log onto www.floridafirecats.com to follow the action.
