Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats are teaming up this weekend with the Lee County Supervisor of Elections Office for their first ever Firecats Fan's Choice Election.

Fans will have an opportunity to vote for their favorite player using 10 touch screen voting machines that will be placed around the concourse under Red, White and Blue tents. The winning Firecats player will be presented with a plaque recognizing them as the "Firecats Fan's Choice of 2007"

"We are always looking for ways to provide voter education and promote voter awareness in our community. Partnering with organizations like the Firecats is one of our most fun and interactive ways to reach large audiences" said Sharon L. Harrington, Lee County Supervisor of Elections.

Lee County Community Awareness Staff will be on hand to register people to vote, update voter information, accept absentee requests and provide election information.

"This will be a fun interactive way for our fans to vote for their favorite player," said Firecats President and General Manager Chris Vallozzi. "The right to vote is not only an important individual liberty; it's also part of the foundation that our country was built upon. Our hope is that this election will help show people how easy it is to vote and help them understand that they have an obligation as U.S. citizens to do their part."

The Florida Firecats host the Albany Conquest this Saturday June 23rd. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm EST. Tickets are on sale now. Call the Firecats box office at 390-CATS (2287) to reserve your seats.

The Firecats defeated the Conquest in Albany 56-51 in week 6. Florida is 2-0 all-time against the team from the Empire State. Of the Firecats remaining 5 opponents, 4 would qualify for the playoffs if the post- season were to begin this week.
