Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats are pleased to announce that Steve Gorrie has been assigned to them by the arenafootball2 office.

"Steve Gorrie is a great football player, and he has a lot of arena football experience," Firecats General Manager Chris Vallozzi said. "He will be able to help out our running game a great deal."

Gorrie is a 6'0, 242-pound fullback/ linebacker from Plantation, Florida. Gorrie received his higher education from Presbyterian College. At Presbyterian College, he was the Division II Football Player of the Year, two-time All-America, and he was named most valuable player of Presbyterian College's Snow Bowl appearance. He also received 1st Team All-Conference honors, and he was twice named Division II Offensive Player of the Year. He is also the all-time leading rusher and scorer in Presbyterian College history.

Gorrie started his professional football career with the National Football League's Cincinnati Bengals in 1996. He also spent time with the RFL's Mobile Admirals, and he spent three seasons with the Arena Football League's Florida Bobcats.
