8 DAYS UNTIL OPENING NIGHT... The 2004 season opens in just 8 days. The Fire will open the season against the Hawaiian Islanders (1-0), who defeated the Central Valley Coyotes 68-35 last weekend. We will be giving away Thunderstix courtesy of CHA Health. Proceeds from Opening Night will also benefit Kosair Charities. You can still get your season tickets by calling (502) 368-0009.
af2 TO BE FEATURED ON NBC THIS WEEK... af2 will be highlighted on NBC's coverage of the AFL this weekend. The Fire's game against the Samurai Warriors will be featured and Fire kicker Mark Samuel will also be featured. The AFL on NBC will kick-off at Noon on Sunday on WAVE-3.
af2 SEASON UNDERWAY... The af2 season kicked-off last weekend with two games on Opening Weekend. The Hawaiian Islanders (1-0) defeated the Central Valley Coyotes (0-1) 68-35 in one game. In the other game last weekend the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings (1-0) defeated the Birmingham Steeldogs (0-1) 63-41. This week will feature six games with 12 teams opening the 2004 season. DAVE ON THE SPORTS CORNER... Fire GM Dave Arnold will appear on The Sports Corner on FOX-41 Saturday evening. Dave will be talking about the Fire's opening game and other local sports topics.

THE ROSTER IS SET... The 2004 Louisville Fire roster has been set. This season will feature many new players and some old favorites including WR/LB Dennis Fryzel, kicker Mark Samuel and FB/LB Demetrius Forney. THE WILDFIRES will be making an appearance this weekend at Phoenix Hill's Spring Fling. They will be on stage from 2:00 â 2:30 pm on Sunday. They will be giving away tickets to Opening Night and they will perform a routine. Phoenix Hill is located on Baxter Avenue.
JOIN THE TEAM FOR DINNER... Every Thursday night during the season the players and coaches will be at Golden Corral on Preston Highway after practice for dinner. The players and coaches will be available for autographs.
BE ON THE LOOKOUT... The Wildfires will be downtown next week handing out schedules and fliers for opening night. Be on the lookout around lunch-time next week.
