
Firebirds Acquire Three Draft Picks from Mississauga for Reed Gee and a Pick

FLINT, Mich. - The Flint Firebirds announced on Sunday that the team has traded defenseman Reed Gee and a 12th round draft choice to the Mississauga Steelheads in exchange for three draft picks.
The Firebirds will receive Mississauga's third round choice in the 2027 OHL Priority Selection, and its eighth and 11th round picks in the 2026 OHL Priority Selection. The 12th round pick the Firebirds are sending to Mississauga is for 2024 and originally belonged to the Guelph Storm.
Gee has appeared in 16 games for the Firebirds this season and has recorded five assists. During his rookie season in 2022-23, he played 20 games for Flint and had a goal and an assist. The Kingston, Ontario native was originally taken by the Firebirds in the third round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection.
Flint has arrived at the OHL's holiday break and will not take the ice again for 12 days. The Firebirds next game is on Friday, December 29 in Kitchener against the Rangers. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
