Louisville Fire News Release

The Louisville Fire arenafootball2 team has been assigned former Cincinnati Bengal Tremain Mack, 6'0, 193, by the af2 league office. Mack, who spent four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals (1997-2000), will join the Fire for their home game this week against the Columbus Wardogs.

Mack is the Bengals all-time leader in kick off return yards with 3,583 career yards, and he is also number one in returns with 146. In 1999 Mack's kick off return average of 27.1 yards a return set a single season record for the Bengals and earned him a spot on the 1999 AFC Pro Bowl team as a kick return specialist.

"Tremain is going to help us out on special teams and defensively. To bring in someone with his experience in the NFL will only make this team stronger and help us in our run to get to the playoffs," commented Fire Head Coach Tommy Johnson.

Mack also holds Bengal records for most kick return yards in a season, 1382 and most kick return yards in a game with 212; both records were established during the 1999 NFL season. Mack, who attended the University of Miami (Fl.), was named all Big East following the 1996 season for his efforts as a strong safety and a return specialist.

Mack and the rest of the Fire will practice tonight at Old Cardinal Stadium at the Fairgrounds at 7:00 p.m. The Fire will return to Freedom Hall this Saturday night to take on Columbus at 7:30 pm. The first 1,000 fans through the door will receive a Louisville Fire hat courtesy of Wolford Printing. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling (502) 368-0009 or by visiting Tickemaster.com.
