Final score changed in Wednesday night's Gorillas loss

Amarillo, TX 3/12/09 - The final goal of Wednesday night's game between the Amarillo Gorillas and Arizona Sundogs has been wiped off the scoresheet, the Gorillas reported Thursday.

Arizona's Matt Hood was originally credited with an empty-net goal at the 19:59 mark of the third period, making the final score 4-2. However, after the conclusion of the game, the on-ice officiating crew judged that the goal went in after the clock expired, wiping the goal from record.

The Gorillas organization issued a press release after the game with the final score listed at 4-2. The elimination of the final goal sets the new final score of the game at 3-2 in the Sundogs' favor.

The Gorillas will be back in action next against the Laredo Bucks at the Amarillo Civic Center on Friday. Opening face-off is scheduled for 7:05 PM Central Time, with the Gorillas wearing specialty Harley-Davidson-themed jerseys presented by Tripp's Harley-Davidson in Amarillo. In addition, the "Silver Dollar Tour" comes to an end Friday night, as the 2003 100th Anniversary Edition Harley-Davidson Road King could be awarded to one lucky participant.
