
Jacks Outlast IceRays for 7-5 Win

(Odessa, TX) - Jeff Pierce continued his Rookie of the Year campaign with a four point game as the Odessa Jackalopes outlasted the Corpus Christi IceRays for a 7-5 at the Ector County Coliseum on Thursday night. Pierce finished the game with a pair of goals and assists.
The second period was one of the wildest of this CHL season as nine goals combined were scored between Odessa and Corpus Christi. Russ Moyer, Paul Kelly, Collin Circelli, Sebastien Thinel, and Jeff Pierce all scored for the Jackalopes. Moyer's, Thinel's, and Pierce's goals came on the power play. For Corpus Christi Adam Powell, Nick Ramano, Nicholas Bachand, and John Halverson all scored. Halverson's was with an extra attacker on the ice after a delayed penalty was called against the Jacks. Odessa led 6-4 after two periods.
Both teams traded goals in the third period as Pierce scored at 12:51 on an assist from Josh Chase. Mark Tobin scored for Corpus Christi at 15:54
Odessa rookie, Robby Spalding, opened up the scoring with the first period's only goal when he slapped a loose puck between the circles. It was the first goal of his pro career.
The Jackalopes being a three game road trip in Wichita on Saturday night at 7:05 PM. The game can be heard on 97 Gold.
