Sioux Falls Stampede News Release

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Stampede Hockey Club has two games remaining in the regular season and needs every point possible to earn a spot in the Clark Cup Playoffs. The Herd prepares to compete in a home-and-home series against the Fargo Force this weekend.

The Stampede will travel to Fargo, N.D. on Friday for a 7:05 matchup to close out their time on the road for the regular season. The following day, the pairing will be at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center for the final matchup of the regular season. With both teams having a lot to play for, the series is projected to be electric!

The Herd is 2-7-2 against the Force this season with a record of 0-3-1 at the PREMIER Center. Most recently, The Stampede fell to the Force, 5-4, on March 11 at the PREMIER Center. Adam Zlnka, Jaksen Panzer, Will McDonough, and Maddox Fleming all tallied goals for the Herd during the matchup. In Fargo, the Stampede holds a record of 2-4-1 this season.

The Force is still fighting for their share of the Anderson Cup, they need just one point to earn a share of the cup and two points to claim it, outright. The Force has had a rough final quarter of this season, winning just three games out of 12 since March 16th. Currently on a three-game losing streak, the Force close out their regular-season as well with this series but have already claimed a spot in the playoffs.

The Herd has a few ways they can earn their place in the Clark Cup Playoffs, but their scenarios also depend on the Des Moines Buccaneers, who are two points ahead in Western Conference standings, and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
